Build a quiet gaming http://www.techweighmfg.com/ system Sticking in even precut foam panels is more work than i want to do.I know voodoopc has one, but i was hoping to spend less than $6000 on my next rig.I usually build them myself, but i nearly always run into cooling issues come summer.For once, i'd like a quiet, completely warrantied box that's ready to rock out of the box.Any suggestions? Double panedWindows are extremely quiet and fairly easy to construct.One down side to this they are also insulators.I'm wondering about using double paned plexi with a think foam spacer used on them.Or you could even do this with regular metal Case with a liner of plexi in there as well.Minimize the foam count in the system with the plexi increase the air flow on the unit.Option b go fanless entirely and just insulate the hdd casing or go further then this and seperate the hdd from the units entirely.Personally i like the idea of just double layered aluminum with plastic, albeit soft plastic, to act as a damper on the unit.My personal design uses wood which is excellent in sound control if you use the right kind.I'm talking particle board or even pine type wood if you need to reduce the sound more then try some balsa wood liners.Balsa sucks sound up like water Great Deals and its inexpensive as well(Easier to cut too)Bit of wood glue or some double sided foam tape and there ya go.I've got many many ways to cut sound on systems as well as over all designs for them most of which don't require the conventional"Case"As we know it but do require a bit of imagination and some power tools: ).If you want some more of my designs i can post and even draw a schematic of the items including dimensions and measurements as well.Free time at my job isn't always counter productive.But i love the 60"Screens and all the movies i get to watch while earning a paycheck.
